The Lending Awards is the only award programme distinguishing and rewarding individuals and businesses across the spectrum of three of the largest sectors in the UK credit market

The awards, held at the Hilton in London Bankside, saw winners such as Rate Setter and Hitachi Capital Business Finance.

This latest achievement comes as our third award having won at the FStech and Credit Strategy awards earlier this year.

We are pleased to announce our service advisor of the month award goes to Jane Bailey from Bristol Street Motors.

Jane has been a regular user of Bumper since August 2016 when she began to make interest free finance a part of her everyday sales process.

Bumper Win At AM Awards 2020

Unlike other countries, there isn’t a universal credit score in the UK. Here, credit reference agencies such as Transunion, Equifax and Experian provide data to lenders for risk assessments, who in turn report back to the agencies on whether the customer has maintained their repayments. As lenders may use 1, 2 or all 3 of the credit reference agencies, the score you receive from each is likely to be different.

Not only do different credit agencies use different criteria, they also score you using different scales. For example, with Experian you would be scored out of 999 and with Credit Karma, which uses Transunion and Equifax, you would be scored out of 710.

What these companies consider a good, bad or average credit score is published on their websites but how they determine this varies by agency.

We are pleased to announce we have received our largest investment to date after our latest funding round.

An £850,000 investment has been secured through equity given to private investors. This brings our total investment to £4 million over the last 5 years. This comes alongside our £13.3 million debt facility provided by Naviter Capital, who was also one of the equity investors.

This latest investment follows a long period of growth, with over 2,000 UK dealerships using our 

 option to sell over £50 million pounds worth of service work since our launch in 2015. A large increase came in 2019 where lending grew 100% year-on-year. An increase due to trusted partnerships with brands such as Peugeot Citroen, Ford, Vauxhall, Jaguar Landrover and Volkswagen and a commitment to providing an ethical payment option to customers and a reliable and robust solution to dealerships.

 CEO James Jackson said, “Dealerships are going through a particularly difficult time at the moment amid the ongoing impact of the Coronavirus and while this will lead to an unavoidable short term slowdown in aftersales activity many have already recognised the longer term importance of adopting interest-free payment methods within their service departments. This is especially important when it comes to selling work that they would have otherwise missed out on.

“In the short term we’re committed to helping provide dealers that are still offering aftersales support with the ability to offer their customers flexible payment methods, something that will be beneficial to both vehicle owners and dealerships alike in the challenging times ahead. This has included developing a fund to help vulnerable customers by discounting their final repayment bills during the ongoing pandemic. Beyond this, we aim to increase both our footprint and the utilisation of our platform across the UK.”

Bumper Future Looks Bright as latest funding round secures £14 Million Investment

Volkswagen UK is improving their aftersales experience by offering customers interest free on repairs, servicing, MOTS and accessories.

Bumper is an innovative, interest-free lender that allows customer to split their repair bill at no additional cost. With flexible options to suit big and small invoices, anything between £60 and £3,000 can be borrowed and split over 1 to 6 instalments (a payment made on the day is required for 4, 5 and 6 instalments).

The service is available in participating VW garages across the UK. Applications are subject to a Soft Check and a decision is presented to the customer instantly.

Head of Aftersales at VW UK, Kevin Rendell, said, “The 0% offer allows drivers to spread the cost of accessories, maintenance, repairs and more, all with the reassurance of Volkswagen Retailer customer service. “

Volkswagen to offer 0% APR finance in bid to boost aftersales experience

Jaguar Land Rover customers will be given the option to split their bills into affordable monthly payments completely interest-free. Bumper’s use of risk management systems and artificial intelligence allows an instant decision to be made whilst the customer’s car is still in the dealership. This allows maintenance work to be carried out and gives the customer peace of mind their bill has already been dealt with.
